We have been given a job by the WatchTower & the Government to find, kill, & destroy whatever created a giant Ice pyramid in the LA port. We had been sent the initial Report of the scene, written by acting commander Adept Whitewind(I think these names are more of rank than actual names). Here is the report.
Acting CRI Agents on mission:
* Jonathan Ross
This report written by me, Adept Whitewind of the second sraith, while at my assigned post as the watchman for the Los Angeles area, was contacted by my brother in arms Adept Fireshield via voice stone. He informed me of conspicuous magical activity in the Los Angeles Port. Upon gating in via Terminal Way and Ferry St. I noted that my trajectory was several hundred yards away from my intended drop zone. I suspected this was due to a high-level ritual being conducted; also I heard the sound of feral beasts engaged in battle. I then contacted Headquarters; upon explaining the possible threat; a contingent of battle mages joined me at my location. We tracked Adept Fireshield west of Wharf St. near some large tanks in an open lot. There were at least a dozen veiled individuals with a horde summoned monsters surrounding Adept Fireshield. He was in a large pool of blood. As acting Commander, I gave the order to attack. We unleashed a full frontal assault. After heavy casualties, the enemy retreated to the shore. They then activated an unidentified relic and fully froze four hundred by twenty-five yards of water to escape to the opposite shore near San Pedro Fish Market. The magical ice was amazingly resistant to damage until they reached the other side. Then the ice began to evaporate immediately. This slowed our pursuit considerably as we were forced to levitate across. To deter us even further the rogue mages set their minions upon the innocent bystanders. To uphold our strictures, I chose to break off pursuit and contain the situation and aid the innocent. Unfortunately, this lead to the assailant’s escape and the pursuit was no longer possible. At this time there have been no other incidents in the area, to my knowledge. The mortal authorities have cordoned off the immediate area. I regret to say that Adept Fireshield did not survive his encounter. There were approximately 200 mortal casualties; an unknown number of wounded. Two battle mages gave their lives during this battle.
Adept Whitewind of the second sraith
After arriving on the scene. Whitewind informed us that aerial assault was out of the question since the pyramid had weaponry of unknown origins attacking anything in the air. We chose to assault the building from the water. the reasons for this as follows
# Larry is part of the Winter Court due to exposure to the ShadowSlayer Weapon made by the Dark Smith.
# Larry was able to control the ice to a certain degree. We had hinged the plan him being able to make a hole in the Iceberg.
# Everyone was eager to get this shit over with.
Once we entered the Pyramid via water “bending” we appeared in front of a very large ice door that had an ice bar across it. we then saw 3 murals, they are as follows
# Left side: a mural of 7 people exhibiting our powers in a circle falling.
# Center; Floor: A large Dragon or scaled beast.
# Right side: A city falling to ruin.
Farther down the expanse of this building which reminded me of the TARDIS was a man chanting at an alter. Jon being headstrong as always, rushed the kneeling fool. A barrier was erected around this man and the altar which had a segmented blue sword embedded in it. Jon even more determined, teamed up with Larry to absorb or even diffuse the barrier. I was only there for moral support & to grab excess energy with a ring the Watchtower gave me. After a good couple of minutes, we finally broke through the blue barrier. Red, being the sneaky/quick to action man, launched and arrow and impaled the man’s skull. He continued chanting! The alter, the man and other dead bodies began to merge, creating an ice monstrosity with corpses, guns, and a blue sword in its crystalline shell. I was able to use my ability (Gravity) to pull both Larry & Jon out of the absorption area. Then the battle began.
We slowly chipped at the monstrosity’s dark glacier body until we could get the sword, which looked to be the object that was powering this creature. Larry using his water powers, tried to remove the sword when we broke enough sleet off this creature to get at it. Using his “Water-Whip” he latched onto the sword, regrettably, he was unable to remove the sword & the Siberian Colossus pulled him into his body. Larry, knowing/seeing what was about to happen, drew himself into a small ball surrounded by his magic to hopefully slow the consumption of his power to the fiend. Our offensive continued for some time, while Beefcake (Michael) was attempting to melt through the door at the other end of the building as an escape route in case we could not ruin this construct. finally seeing no other alternative, I used my abilities again (which physically damage my body) to pull Larry and the sword out of this arctic behemoth. The creature fell, having nothing to power that forms it had taken.
Then the quasi-dimension started to collapse. Jon being able to sense/feel another that we are bound to through the Tree, used his energy to travel us across the rivers of power to our own dimension. We then realized that it had been 16 hours & Adept Whitewind had been taken, either captured or killed in the mountains where one of many Watchtower safe houses are.
